Annual Club Awards
At every rally throughout the year points are awarded by the instructors and gear checkers. These points go towards trophies and awards at the end of the year. Awards are to encourage the good repair of equipment, cleanliness of gear, grooming of both the pony and its rider at rallies. We also promote the aims of Pony Club by rewarding courtesy, attitude and application by riders in their rally lessons with points towards these awards. Attendance is also recorded in an official attendance register and at the end of the year the riders can earn a gold, silver or bronze medallion depending upon the number of rallies they have attended. If a rider is at a pony club school (C*, B, A) or a State PCAWA event (representing Murray H & PC) points are still awarded and attendance recorded.
Trophy points are awarded out of 10 for each of the following categories; Attendance, Safety, Cleanliness (horse and rider) and Attitude. The points system is designed to reward the ordinary Pony Club rider who participates willingly and happily and who properly cares for their pony and gear. Age is taken as at the 1st of January of that year.

Sundown Trophy Awarded by the Thomas Family in memory of their wonderful horse Sundown who excelled in all phases of Pony Club competition. First awarded in 1989, it rewards the most versatile horse/pony in the club, in that current year. Riders nominate their mounts and present a brief written report of the best 3 achievements of their mount over 3 different disciplines. Riders are then chosen to complete a ridden display which will allow them to display their mounts talents.
Stormy Trophy Awarded by the McLarty Family in memory of a little gelding who was a true gentleman and excelled in all Pony Club competition. He started pony Club with the McKean Family and finished with the McLarty Family. This trophy is awarded to a rider and pony combination that have just completed their first year of pony Club. The combination should have proven versatile in trying to improve in pony club tasks over the year; amount of rallies attended will be taken into consideration as well as the rider's attitude and willingness to have a go at Pony Club activities.
Trickett Trophies Awarded by the Trickett Family in memory of Bob Trickett a Life Member of our Club. All Murray riders individual results in competitions held by Murray Horse and Pony Club at our grounds are recorded in age groups. If you ride more than one horse/pony you must nominate which one is to be considered for points. The age groups are 9yrs and under, 10-13yrs and 14yrs and over.
Gear Checkers Award This is awarded by the gear checking team to a rider who has throughout the year kept a good standard of cleanliness for saddlery, pony and rider. They have a positive attitude to the safety and comfort of their pony and attempt to make changes suggested to them to improve this.
Each year riders go away and represent Murray Horse and Pony Club at State PCAWA organised events or our zone in the following disciplines;
Tetrathlon
Eventing
Dressage
Showjumping
Prince Phillip Mounted Games
Novelties
Each rider is awarded with a medallion in recognition of their representation of our Club.
Whilst we endeavor to promote excellence and achievement amongst our riders it is important for everyone to remember that joy through participation, team spirit and friendships developed through Pony Club is much more important than how many trophies are on the shelf.
